Women in the Warehouse: Mistina Clay

July 2020

Each month, GSF features a woman leader within the GSF family of companies, sharing her journey, insights and what it takes to succeed in this industry.

This month's Woman in the Warehouse has become the "go-to person" at the Quality Custom Distribution (QCD) facility in Kansas City, Missouri. Mistina Clay began her career as a selector, then quickly transitioned to a lead, and now serves as an operational clerk. She is not shy to lend a helping hand, to say the least.

In her current role, she schedules inbounds, manages inventory, and provides office support, whenever needed. Mistina started at QCD almost five years ago. As a single mom working hard to making ends meet, she aspired to create a long-term career for herself at a company where her contributions would be needed and valued. Her outstanding work ethic led to multiple opportunities to grow at QCD.

"If I work hard and learn as much as I can, then who knows where I could end up within this company," Mistina says. "This industry has endless possibilities for anyone, no matter what background you have."

She finds joy in helping others, learning new processes, adapting them to warehouse operations, and teaching her fellow QCD associates. She encourages other women to learn as much as they can on the job, and shares this advice: "Never say no to an opportunity, even if it is something small."
