A newspaper ad changed everything. In 2008, Bryan Erickson spotted an opening for a new QCD facility in Spokane, Washington. What started as a warehouse opportunity sparked a career journey that now spans nearly two decades, three facilities, and ten roles across the company.
Bryan joined QCD in August 2008 as a Warehouse Selector at QCD Spokane. Drawn by the reputation of Golden State Foods (GSF) and its values-driven culture, he took a chance on an opportunity that would shape the rest of his career.
From the warehouse floor, Bryan steadily expanded his skills and responsibilities. He advanced to Warehouse Lead before moving into transportation as an analyst and later supervisor. New opportunities led him to Portland, Oregon, where he served as Warehouse Manager, Operations Manager, and ultimately General Manager. Another move brought him to the company’s headquarters in Frisco, Texas, where he continues growing through roles including Operations Command Center Manager, Logistics & Systems Manager, Business Solutions Manager, and his current position as Senior Manager of Business Analytics & Solutions.
“Each role gave me a different perspective on the business, from the warehouse floor to transportation to operations leadership to the analytics and systems side,” said Bryan. “That range of experience has been one of the most valuable parts of my journey.”
Throughout each transition, QCD invested in Bryan’s growth. Warehouse and driver training opportunities, along with tuition reimbursement, fueled continuous learning, while GSF’s leadership programs strengthened his capabilities. Equally impactful, mentors and leaders recognized his potential early, opened doors to new opportunities, and challenged him to stretch beyond his comfort zone.
“Every time I felt ready for the next challenge, QCD had a path for me, whether that meant a new role, a new facility, or a new function entirely,” he said. “Beyond that, the people I work with and the Values the organization stands behind have kept me engaged.”
QCD’s culture also leaves a lasting impact. The company’s commitment to people, service, and growth influenced the way Bryan leads others today. For associates looking to advance, he shares: “Be open to opportunity, even when it looks different from what you originally pictured.”
From warehouse selector to team leader, Bryan’s path highlights the many ways QCD helps associates build meaningful, long-term careers.
