Associate Milestone Anniversary Spotlight: Amy McAngus
Each quarter, GSF features associates celebrating milestone anniversaries within the GSF family of companies, sharing their journey, insights and what makes their time with the company so special.
“Time sure flies when you enjoy your job…the challenges, the culture, the people! I am truly grateful to be here.”
In September, Amy McAngus, an Administrative Manager at QCD Hawaii, celebrated 30 years at Golden State Foods. She largely credits the people and the culture, grounded in the company’s Creed and Values, as primary reasons for her long career with Golden State Foods’ Waipahu distribution facility.
Leveraging her skills for project management, organization, coordination, and problem-solving, combined with her ability to be flexible and team-oriented, Amy successfully manages multiple projects both individually and with her team.
“My staff does not work for me. I work for them. They do a great job at what they do, and I support their efforts to improve and grow at GSF,” she says.
As her role and responsibilities have evolved over the years, Amy appreciates the leadership that has impacted her career progress through the decades.
“My mentors allowed me to be involved in all aspects of the business,” she shares. “Our leadership is very supportive and encourages us to consistently strive for excellence.”
It’s not just the on-the-clock interactions that have left Amy feeling fulfilled in her role at GSF. With the gift of time to give back to her community and families in need, the establishment of the GSF Foundation (GSFF) and the local committee at her facility has meant a great deal to Amy.
“It feels good to give back, and GSFF allows me to do that on a regular basis.”
Even after 30 years, Amy says she is continuing to work on her skills to be the best inspirational leader she can be. Amy, your hard work and dedication are an inspiration to all! Thank you for all that you do.
