This Veterans Day, QCD honors the dedication of associates like Marla Barr-Stanke, whose Army experience shaped her ability to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving industry.
After a decade of growth within the company, Marla currently serves as Customer Relations Coordinator at QCD’s Frisco, Texas headquarters.
Pursuing Growth Opportunities
Marla’s QCD journey began in June 2015 as a Customer Service Representative in Puyallup, Washington. While exploring new opportunities, she accepted a temporary position with QCD that quickly transitioned into a full-time role, launching a career defined by adaptability and advancement.
Over the years, Marla progressed through multiple positions, including Senior Customer Service Representative and Operations Clerk. She demonstrated her willingness to embrace change when she relocated to Frisco in 2019 to support customers from QCD’s new headquarters.
“The decision to stay with QCD and move to a new city turned out to be the best choice,” she said.
Leadership, Culture, and Continuous Learning
The company’s Creed and Values, paired with strong leadership and a culture of collaboration, have kept her motivated through transitions.
“Good leaders have been the difference in advancing and adapting to changes,” she expressed. “Building relationships with colleagues and internal customers goes a long way in understanding how your role fits into the bigger picture.”
Her passion for learning also drives her forward. She enjoys staying busy, constantly finding better ways to do her job and embracing new challenges. The role has evolved significantly since she started, and those changes keep her engaged and motivated, ensuring there’s never a dull moment.
A Veteran’s Perspective
Marla’s adaptability stems from her time in the U.S. Army, when she served among the first women in combat support roles.

“The Army instilled the ability to adapt to changes,” she reflects. That mindset has been invaluable as QCD continues to grow.
Looking Ahead
As Marla continues to master her current role, she supports the Frisco Customer Service team with systems analysis and process improvements. Her journey highlights how resilience and a commitment to learning can lead to lasting success, qualities QCD proudly celebrate this Veterans Day in honor of all who have served.
