Starbucks Recognizes QCD Denver and Miami Teams for FoodShare Excellence

September 5, 2023

During the Starbucks Distribution and Provider Summit in late August, QCD’s last-mile logistics customer recognized two distribution center teams for their excellence in supporting Starbucks’ FoodShare program. Among three total supplier honorees, QCD’s Denver and Miami locations have provided exemplary service in their markets to help deliver unused, nourishing Starbucks food to U.S. nonprofits.

“QCD has been a strong supporter of Starbucks’ FoodShare program since its launch in 2019, when our team helped pilot it in the Pacific Northwest,” said Brande Bond, Group Vice President, Customer Service and Development. “Today, our distribution facilities across the U.S. continue to play a key role in implementing FoodShare nationwide, while setting the standard for excellence as Denver and Miami have successfully done in receiving this well-deserved customer recognition.”

Honored with the “Super Sustainer” award, QCD Denver earned this accolade by maintaining consistent donation pick-ups from stores and deliveries to drop-site clients; staying in constant communication; and ensuring quality execution, while maintaining a growth mindset and collaboration. As the “Community Champion” honoree, QCD Miami’s award resulted from the team actively engages community; adapting processes to meet the needs of drop-site clients; improving communication; and independently supporting and partnering with local hunger relief organizations.

Beyond their FoodShare program support, both QCD teams have made “Focus on Food” grant donations to their local food banks through the GSF Foundation. From Foundation programs to customer partnerships like FoodShare, QCD continues to make hunger relief a top priority in giving back to community in the areas where associates work and live.
