Heavy Duty Trucking Recognizes QCD Among Top 30 Green Fleets in the U.S.
November 2021
This month, Heavy Duty Trucking magazine recognized Quality Custom Distribution (QCD) among its "30 Top Green Fleets" that are leading the way in sustainability in the U.S. From Amazon and Anheuser-Busch to PepsiCo and UPS, QCD makes the list of notable industry leaders that have initiated earth-friendly logistics practices in the past year.
"A number of trends are accelerating moves to alternative fuels and drivetrains, as well as increasing focus on fuel economy and freight efficiency, which you can see reflected in this year's honorees," writes Deborah Lockridge, Heavy Duty Trucking Editor in Chief, in her remarks about green fleet initiatives. Acknowledging the regulatory and CSR factors motivating some companies, she adds, "Some fleets just see it as the right thing to do."
The story rounding up all 30 green fleet leaders notes QCD's deployment of 14 Volvo Trucks North America VNR Electric trucks into the company's Southern California last-mile delivery routes by the end of 2022. Also mentioned in the story, QCD also uses Neste MY Renewable Diesel for truck tractors in California and Oregon.
