QCD congratulates Starbucks Coffee Company and Feeding America® on receiving two 2025 Engage for Good Halo Awards for their innovative FoodShare food rescue initiative. As a key last-mile logistics partner, QCD plays a vital role in supporting this mission, transporting unsold, ready-to-eat meals from select Starbucks coffeehouses to communities facing food insecurity.
In late June, QCD Seattle had the privilege of hosting attendees from the 2025 ReFED Food Waste Solutions Summit. The visit offered a behind-the-scenes look at how QCD’s nationwide distribution network helps deliver for Starbucks FoodShare every single day. FoodShare not only reduces food waste, it helps hunger relief efforts across the country.
“It was an honor to welcome conference attendees and demonstrate best practices as a reference point for others in the logistics space,” said Devin Goodnoe, QCD Seattle General Manager. “At QCD, we proudly ‘deliver the difference,’ and that includes making an impact on the communities where our associates live and work.”

In August 2023, during the Starbucks Distribution and Provider Summit, two QCD distribution center teams received honors for their excellence in supporting the program. Among three total supplier honorees, QCD’s Denver and Miami locations earned “Supplier Sustainer” and “Community Champion” recognitions, respectively, for providing exemplary service in their markets to help deliver unused, nourishing Starbucks-eligible food to Feeding America food banks and other hunger relief organizations.
“It’s partnerships such as QCD that enable our work in the food waste and hunger relief space to be successful,” shared Joe Park-Bowen, Starbucks global responsibility manager. “We knew one of our biggest superpowers was our logistics expertise and network. Being able to leverage QCD’s 25 facilities across the U.S. has helped us unburden food banks and instead deliver rescued food straight to their doors.”
Since its inception in 2019, QCD has supported the Starbucks FoodShare program and will continue to partner on the impactful food rescue and hunger relief efforts going forward.
