QCD in Waipahu, Hawaii Earns Best in Class Award
On February 20, 2019 QCD in Waipahu was recognized as the 2018 “Best in Class” winner for Quality Custom Distribution. The annual award recognizes the top facility within the QCD network and was given to QCD Waipahu for several key successes in 2018 which included:
Earning a safety excellence award;
Ensuring a seamless move to a new dry building;
Positive transition to another AS400 box and new QCD shared services resources;
High ratings on customer satisfaction surveys, and three contingency performances that were complimented by customers.
“Not only did this team successfully weather a hurricane and volcano in 2018, they did so while still excelling in all areas of operations,” said Ryan Hammer, corporate vice president and president, QCD. “It was an honor to celebrate with this team who operates like a close-knit family, and they are truly setting the standard for QCD in 2019.”
“The QCD team in Waipahu earned this award out of 18 other DCs across the country,” said Stephen Wetterau, regional director of distribution – west. “Carl Guhl, general manager of this facility has more than 30 years of experience working with our organization, and through his leadership has been able to develop a talented team who are dedicated to safety, continuous improvement, and excellent customer service.”
